Tash Sultana sells out Red Rocks Amphitheatre in minutes: Exclusive
Tash Sultana’s live show is legendary. And judging by ticket sales for Sultana’s forthcoming show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, American fans are all over it.
Sultana has sold out a show next summer at the Colorado destination, hitting the target in the time it takes to brew a tea.
“So this entire 10,000 cap show sold out in 5 minutes. After being in a pandemic for two years I thought ya’ll had forgotten about me, Sultana tells TIO via email.
“This is what dreams are made of. This right here is my purpose. Thank you so much.”
AEG Presents is behind the concert, set for June 12, 2022.
It’s an “insanely massive” achievement, comments Regan Lethbridge, co-founder of Lemon Tree Music, Sultana’s management team.
“I’m very proud and can’t wait to get back to Red Rocks again with the team. Last time seeing Tash there was one of the best shows I’ve seen.”
LTM co-manages Sultana with UNIFIED Music Group founder and CEO Jaddan Commerford in North America.
Watch Tash Sultana perform ‘Mystik’:
The historic concert venue in Morrison, 15km west of Denver, is on every artist’s bucket list. Selling it out is, for most, a dream.
In 1999, Pollstar magazine gave Red Rocks the award for best small outdoor venue for the eleventh time, and from that point on, removed the venue from the category, which the trade mag renamed the Red Rocks Award.
Over the years, the biggest names in music have performed at the open-air spot, from The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Depeche Mode and many more.
U2 helped insert Red Rocks into the public consciousness when, in 1983, they shot the live concert film and album Under a Blood Red Sky.
It’s something of an old stomping ground for Sultana, who sold-out the venue in September 2019, on a night when the Rolling Stone Australia cover star unleashed a set stuffed with ‘Big Smoke,’ ‘Free Mind,’ ‘Synergy’ ‘Jungle’ and others.
Stream Tash Sultana’s ‘Maybe You’ve Changed’:
Sultana’s debut 2018 LP Flow State (via Mom & Pop Music) made a splash in the U.S., peaking at No. 4 on Billboard’s Alternative Albums Chart, and at No. 51 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.
Flow State went to No. 2 on the ARIA Chart, and was nominated for the Triple J Australian Album of the Year award and six ARIAs, collecting the Best Blues and Roots category.
Follow-up Terra Firma arrived at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart in February 2021, and earned Sultana an ARIA Award nomination for Best Soul/R&B Release.
Further live dates in North America, Australia and elsewhere will be announced in due course.
