Taylor Swift is turning 35 on Friday (Dec. 13), but she got to celebrate her birthday a little early during the Billboard Music Awards on Thursday night (Dec. 12), when she collected 10 awards.

Swift took home the trophies for Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Hot 100 Songwriter, Top Streaming Songs Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist, Top Billboard Global 200 Artist, Top Billboard Global (Excl. U.S.) Artist and Top Billboard 200 Album — raising her all-time wins to a record-breaking 49, surpassing her tie with Drake and making her the most celebrated artist in BBMA history.

“Thank you to the fans, because Billboard is counting your stuff. They’re counting what you listen to, the albums that you’re passionate about,” she shared in a video message to fans during the telecast. “I count these as fan-voted awards because you’re the ones who care about the albums and come see us in concert. Everything that’s happened with the Eras Tour and The Tortured Poets Department, I just have to say thank you. It means the world to me that you guys embraced the things I’ve made, and the fact that you care so much about my music.”

She concluded by planting a red-lipped kiss on one of her BBMAs and noting, “This is the nicest early birthday present you could have given me. So, thank you very much. I love it. It’s exactly what I wanted.”

It’s been yet another landmark year for Swift, who wrapped her 149-show Eras Tour earlier this month. The trek grossed more than $2 billion in 2023-2024. She also didn’t slow down on music releases in 2024, unveiling her Billboard 200 chart-topping album The Tortured Poets Department and its expanded Anthology. The album led her to claim the top 14 spots on the Hot 100.

The Billboard Music Awards are produced by Dick Clark Productions, which is owned by Penske Media Corporation. PMC is also the parent company of Billboard.
