Terrapin Family Band to Bring The Spirit of Terrapin Crossroads to Northlands Music & Arts Festival with Special Guests Eric Krasno, Kanika Moore, Holly Bowling and Others
Previously, Northlands Music and Arts Festival has unveiled plans for its 2025 iteration, slated to span three days for the first time. The renowned music will occur from June 13-15, 2025, in Swanzey, N.H. After unveiling the initial artist lineup, the folks behind the Northeast gathering have added The Terrapin Family Band, who will deliver a set dubbed The Spirit of Terrapin Crossroads.
The newly added festival frame will bring bandmates Grahame Lesh, Ross James, Jason Crosby, and Alex Koford together to honor the famed Phil and Jill Lesh-owned San Rafael, Calif., restaurant and venue, where younger members of the group got their footing through Sunday School musical deep dives into the Grateful Dead archive–led by the famed bassist–a point of discussion in Relix’s newly announced collector’s edition which honors the late artist who passed away in October.
Joining the talented lineup for the second-generation Grateful Dead torch-bearers are special guests Eric Krasno, who shared the stage with Koford and members of Dawes during a Thanksgiving Eve concert in Pasadena, Calif., Kanika Moore, fresh off the Bill Kreutzmann-led Grateful Mahalo experience, and fellow jam-adjacent enthusiast, Holly Bowling, Nicki Bluhm and Lotus’ Tim Palmieri.
The Spirit of Terrapin Crossroads draws some of its guest assistance from already-announced festival participants [Soulive, Lotus, Bowling, and Moore]. Already announced acts include headliners The String Cheese Incident, Minneapolis-based guitarist Cory Wong, and pioneering jam bands Umphrey’s McGee and moe.
The stacked bill also features several genre-spanning ensembles, such as Eggy, Daniel Donato, Lettuce, and Soulive. Lotus, Andy Frasco & The U.N., Kitchen Dwellers, lespecial, Dirtwire, Mountain Grass Unit, Neighbor, LaMP, Sneezy, Tandan, and Super Sonic Shorties–an all-female collective from Holly Bowling, Kanika Moore and Karina Rykman–will also perform.
Before the festival’s arrival, The Terrapin Family Band will celebrate the holidays by offering their second annual Grateful Holiday show on December 19, 2024, at The Guild Theatre in Menlo Park, Calif. Just last week, the group added ALO’s Lebo to the bill. Moreover, their follow-up will include Molly Tuttle on Friday, December 20. Tickets remain on sale.
