‘The Energy Curfew Music Hour’ Add Jon Batiste, Lake Street Dive, Kacey Musgraves and More to Guest Lineup

The Energy Curfew Music Hour with Chris Thile and Punch Brothers has expanded its lineup to include more guests. This round serves as the final grouping of artist additions to the first season of programming. Included are Jon Batiste and Lake Street Dive during the Wednesday, January 24 show at Audible’s Minetta Lane Theatre in New York and Kacey Musgraves and Tiny Habits, participating in the Saturday, January 27 event. 

The shows are a part of the Audible Theater’s previously announced program expansion, slated to include The Energy Curfew Music Hour with Grammy-winning ensemble and Thile. The Non-Essential Electronics Buyback Program and the U.S. Department of Arts and Waste Management are also taking part in the formation of events. 

The program delivers an imagined near future where electricity is rationed worldwide. In this realm, America has instituted a weekly “Energy Curfew,” when the grid goes down entirely for 24 hours to promote unplugged life. Broadcasted via Connectwork precisely 60 minutes before the so-called Energy Curfew, the occurrence is the perfect way to celebrate before a weekly 24-hour break from the grid. 

Created by Thile and Claire Coffee, each episode of this entirely acoustic musical variety show is performed and recorded live with Punch Brothers, who will welcome special guests for a night of music and specialty collaboration. Previously in the season, the Punch Brothers’ Chris Thile, Brittany Haas, Noam Pikelny, Chris Eldridge and Paul Kowert have debuted new songs and collaborated with special guests, such as Norah Jones, James Taylor, Jason Isbell, Sylvan Esso, Vulfmon, Louis Cato and others.
