Sophie Ellis-Bextor is selling out shows across Europe and in New York City after the successful revival of “Murder on the Dancefloor.” The 2001 song was included in the viral movie ‘Saltburn’ and showcases another sync success following Kate Bush’s “Runnin’ Up That Hill” revival.

Ellis-Bextor sang the song at the BAFTA Awards in the U.K., the equivalent of the Oscars. When asked about the success of the revival, she spoke about returning to when she recorded it. “It’s just wonderful, she told ABC. “I kind of want to go back to 22-year-old me, which is how old I was when I recorded it—and be like, ‘You won’t believe what happened with this.’””

Now she’s taking the show on the road with her first-ever headline tour of North America. Right now there are seven dates set, with the New York City show selling out within a day of the announcement.

“It’s a song I’ve been singing for over 20 years. I still love singing it,” Ellis-Bextor told the BBC after the scene in ‘Saltburn’ went viral, inspiring a TikTok dance trend. “I love the way people react when I do it live. But for new people to be discovering it, for it to be making new memories with people, is kind of beautiful.”
