The Preatures have officially announced their reunion, three-and-a-half years after their acrimonious split. The Sydney indie-rock band have shared that they will play at The Lansdowne in Sydney – where they played their very first show circa 2010 – next Tuesday, December 10th, marking their first show in over five years. Tickets for the show are on sale now via Moshtix.

In a press statement, the band’s lead vocalist Isabella Manfredi – who launched her own solo career following The Preatures’ split – said that her decision to rejoin her bandmates has “not been simple”, but is “one that has come with years of growth, forgiveness and reconciliation”. “For me, this represents closure and new beginnings,” she said.

“I’m proud of myself that I’ve reached a place where I feel strong enough to re-enter this space, and I can’t wait to share the music again. I loved being a frontwoman. I want my daughter to experience my history, my legacy, and to see what women are capable of. And I want it for our fans, who’ve unconditionally loved and supported us.”

The Preatures – ‘Is This How You Feel?’

“Sometimes you really need to let go of everything to realise and appreciate what you have,” wrote the band in a joint press statement. “For us, it’s about recognising and letting go of mistakes, allowing adversity to strengthen us, and trusting our game. We don’t know exactly what’s going to happen, but the idea of a comeback has an almost mystical ability to capture our imagination in a cynical world, and we can’t wait to relight that fire and remind ourselves what a privilege it is to play for you.”

The reunion will see all five members of The Preatures’ original line-up rejoin the fold – Manfredi, guitarist Jack Moffitt, bassist Thomas Champion, drummer Luke Davision and vocalist/guitarist Gideon Benson. The lattermost member exited the fold in 2016, pursuing a solo career and leaving the remaining band members to continue as a four-piece. The band released their second album, Girlhood, the following year.

In addition to reuniting, the band have also shared an official vinyl reissue of their debut album, 2014’s Blue Planet Eyes, to commemorate its 10-year anniversary. The record can be pre-ordered here ahead of its release on Friday, April 4th 2025.
