The Smile share “Friend of a Friend” from new LP Wall of Eyes

The Smile, the Radiohead side project featuring Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, and Tom Skinner (formerly of Sons of Kemet), had one of 2022’s best albums with their debut, A Light for Attracting Attention, and they’ll follow it with Wall of Eyes on Jan. 26. The album features string arrangements by the London Contemporary Orchestra, and you can hear those on the latest single, “Friend of a Friend,” which also features saxophone from collaborator and tourmate Robert Stillman.

Ahead of its release, Wall of Eyes will stream in surround sound at a series of events at independent cinemas on Jan. 18-25, which will also feature the premiere of the Paul Thomas Anderson-directed video for “Wall of Eyes,” never-before-seen footage from the album recording sessions, and a look back at PTA’s past collaborations with Radiohead and Yorke. Tickets go on sale Thursday, Jan. 11 at 10 a.m. GMT, and you can see all events below.

The Smile also announced a new run of headlining European dates with James Holden, in addition to their previously announced festival dates. See those below, as well.
