The Year in Charts: Here Are Billboard’s Top 10 Latin Artists of 2024
From Karol G to Xavi and Bad Bunny, see the Latin stars who commanded the charts and dominated music this year.

As Billboard unveils its 2024 year-end charts this Friday (Dec. 13), anticipation was met with familiar results at the top of the Top Latin Artists survey. Despite releasing no new albums this year, a notable achievement emerged as a Puerto Rican megastar continued his reign — can you guess who? — marking a record-setting sixth consecutive year leading the charts. This milestone solidifies his status as the only artist to claim the coveted title since the category’s inception in 2011. Yes, Bad Bunny does it again, maintaining his chart dominance at No. 1.
In a continued rise, Fuerza Regida, who last year held the fourth slot, just behind Karol G and Peso Pluma, comes in strong at second place this year. The prolific San Bernardino band released Pa’ La Babys y la Belikeada late last year, which entered the Billboard 200 at No. 14, followed by an EP Dolido Pero No Arrepentido, and another album this year, Pero No Te Enamores, charting at No. 69 and 25 respectively.
Karol G maintains her strong presence, securing the No. 3 spot on this year’s list, consistent with her ranking from last year. She remains the only female Latin artist in the top 10, with Kali Uchis just missing the cut at No. 11. Shakira follows at No. 26, Young Miko at No. 30, Becky G at No. 34, and Anitta at No. 40. Additionally, the Colombian hitmaker achieves this remarkable feat for the sixth consecutive year.
While the top 10 Latin artists are featured below, the broader landscape of the top 20 includes, Carín León (No. 12), Myke Towers (13), Natanael Cano (14), Tito Double P (15), Luis R. Billboard’s year-end music recaps represent aggregated metrics for each artist, title, label and music contributor on the weekly charts from Oct. 28, 2023 to October 19, 2024. Rankings for Luminate-based recaps reflect equivalent album units, airplay, sales or streaming during the weeks that the titles appeared on a respective chart during the tracking year. Any activity registered before or after a title’s chart run isn’t considered in these rankings. That methodology detail, and the October-October time period, account for some of the difference between these lists and the calendar-year recaps that are independently compiled by Luminate.

Ivan Cornejo
Image Credit: Le3ay Studio 2024 established Ivan Cornejo as a force in música Mexicana, especially with the release of Mirada, where he continued to expand his melancholic alt-sierreño sensibility. With his third album, filled with moody guitars and introspective songwriting, the 20-year-old old soul also placed eleven simultaneous songs from the new album on Hot Latin Songs. His ascent continues to be noteworthy; in 2022, he took home the title of new artist of the year at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, and this year he sits comfortably in the coveted top 10 of 2024’s year-end Top Latin Artists tally, just as he did last year.

Grupo Frontera
Image Credit: Eric Rojas Grupo Frontera has maintained a robust presence on the music charts with a series of successful hits, notably “Hecha Pa’ Mi,” which soared to No. 1 on the Regional Mexican Airplay chart. This track also secured a spot in our staff picks for the Best Latin Songs of 2024, coming in at No. 9. Their second full-length album, Jugando A Que No Pasa Nada — where they continue to solidify their distinctive Tex-Mex sound — earned a place on the prestigious Billboard 200 at No. 198. Additionally, their fire 2024 collabs with Christian Nodal (“Ya Pedo Quien Sabe”), Shakira (“(Entre Parentesis)”), Tito Double P (“Ay Mama”), Carín León (“Alch Si”), and Maluma (“Por Qué Será”, all positioned them on the Hot Latin Songs chart.

Xavi

His smash hit “La Diabla,” released last December, quickly ascended to a resounding No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart, where it reigned for 14 weeks, becoming the defining soundtrack for the first half of the year. Known for his striking, high-pitched vocals that instantly captivate, Xavi achieved remarkable chart success as a solo artist, a feat increasingly rare in today’s musical landscape immersed with collabs. In 2024, the Mexican-American star earned the title of new artist of the year at the Billboard Latin Music Awards and dropped his debut album Next in October. Oh, and he earned the No. 1 spot on Billboard‘s New Latin Artists of 2024 list.

Rauw Alejandro

With an impressive display of reinvention, he has transitioned from a reggaetón smooth talker to a freestyle-singing space cadet, and now, a salsa revivalist. His latest album, Cosa Nuestra, brings back the energy of Puerto Rican salseros of the ’70s living in New York, and one of the most standout tracks is his rendition of Frankie Ruiz’s “Tú Con Él.” Billboard Latin and Billboard Español editors, in fact, named the album the Best Latin Album of 2024. The LP also debuted at No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums and Latin Rhythm Albums charts alike.

The lineup of surprise guests was impressive, featuring Rauw Alejandro, Karol G, Bad Bunny, Sech, Ryan Castro, Yandel and more. El Ferxxo’s star continues to rise; this week, the Colombian singer/songwriter, in collaboration with Sky Rompiendo, debuted in the top 10 on the Latin Rhythm Albums chart with their set, Los 9 del Ferxxo y Sky Rompiendo. Additionally, this year, he scored two top five hits on the Hot Latin Songs chart with his solo track “Sorry 4 That Much” and “+57,” featuring Colombian powerhouses Karol G, DFZM, Ovy On The Drums, J Balvin, Maluma, Ryan Castro, and Blessd.

His October 2024 album $ad Boyz 4 Life II debuted at No. 2 on Top Latin Albums, propelling his star even higher this year. While last year, the album catapulted him to No. 12 on the year-end Top Latin Albums Artists list, this year, it climbed to No. 6, thus making the top 10. It’s the gift that keeps on giving and has remained on the Regional Mexican Albums chart for an impressive 61 weeks and is currently ranked at No. 4.

Karol G

The Colombian powerhouse remains the only woman on the list, as she has been every year since 2019 — except for 2021 when Kali Uchis also made the cut — securing the No. 4 spot on the year-end Top Latin Artists list. This is particularly impressive considering she did not release a full-length album in 2024, yet her releases from February 2023, Mañana Será Bonito, and August 2023, Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season), still made the year-end Top Latin Albums list at No. 7 and No. 5 respectively. However, she did release one of the biggest bangers of the year, “Si Antes Te Hubiera Conocido,” setting merengue-pop craze. The hit reached No. 1 on multiple charts, including Hot Latin Songs, Latin Airplay and Tropical Airplay, and also topped our Staff Picks: The Best Latin Songs of 2024, Ranked.

Peso Pluma

A historic moment unfolded when his groundbreaking album Génesis debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 last year, the highest-charting regional Mexican album to date; and he continued to make significant impacts with 2024’s Éxodo, which landed at No. 5 on the aforementioned list. As a prolific hitmaker, he expanded his sonic palette, proving his versatility by delving into Tex-Mex cumbia with Grupo Frontera (“Tulúm”), embracing trap with Arcángel (“Peso Completo”), and exploring reggaetón with Anitta (“Bellakeo”) Additionally, he reached the Hot 100 nine times this year.

Despite not releasing a new album this year, his influence persists, buoyed by revolutionary works like 2020’s YHLQMDLG, 2022’s Un Verano Sin Ti and last year’s Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana. Furthermore, Bad Bunny’s accolades continue to accumulate; he clinched six Billboard Latin Music Awards this year alone, including the prestigious artist of the year. Nadie Sabe was also heralded as both the Top Latin Album and Latin Rhythm Album of the year. Additionally, his track “Monaco” was celebrated as the Sales Song of the Year. Benito’s six-year reign proves it’s not just a moment — it’s his era.
