The Year in Charts: Here Are Billboard’s Top 5 New Latin Artists of 2024
These are the new Latin acts that finished the year strong. See the list below.
Billboard has revealed its much-anticipated Year-End Charts, which includes Top New Latin Artists. While Bad Bunny, once again, finished off the year as Billboard’s Top Latin Artist, five breakthrough artists also made strong waves.
With his raw spirit of corridos tumbados and tender romanticism, Mexican-American artist, Xavi, tops the Year-End Top Latin Artist – New chart. His single “La Diabla” not only earned him his first No. 1 on a Billboard chart, but it also became the first champ of the year — crowing Hot Latin Songs for 14 consecutive weeks. Xavi’s success on the charts also made him the new artist of the year winner at the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards.
Tito Double P, another promising Música Mexicana newcomer closes the year at No. 2. The artist born Roberto Laija kicked off his career as Peso Pluma’s main songwriter, and this year, his debut album Incómodo bowed at No. 2 on the Top Latin Albums and Regional Mexican Albums charts, and No. 20 on the all-genre Billboard 200.
Furthermore, Cris MJ, Oscar Maydon, and Floyymenor appear on the year-end “Top Latin Artist – New” chart. Learn more about the artists below:
Billboard’s year-end music recaps represent aggregated metrics for each artist, title, label and music contributor on the weekly charts from Oct. 28, 2023 to October 19, 2024. Rankings for Luminate-based recaps reflect equivalent album units, airplay, sales or streaming during the weeks that the titles appeared on a respective chart during the tracking year. Any activity registered before or after a title’s chart run isn’t considered in these rankings. That methodology detail, and the October-October time period, account for some of the difference between these lists and the calendar-year recaps that are independently compiled by Luminate.

FloyyMenor
Inspired by the trap movement and artists such as Anuel AA, Travis Scott and Bryant Myers, the 19-year-old — whose artistic name is inspired by boxing legend Floyd Mayweather — began making his own music when he was only 15. In 2023, he officially began to drop his creations, including “Gata Only” in collaboration with Cris MJ.
The out-of-nowhere hit soared the Chilean newcomers to No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, where it topped 14 consecutive weeks this year. The two artists made history along the way, becoming the first Chileans to top the chart (La Ley and Ednita Nazario’s “Tú Sabes Bien” made top 10, 25 years ago). “Gata Only” won Global 200 Latin Song of the Year at the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards.

Oscar Maydon
In October, Maydon claimed his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart thanks to his Fuerza Regida collaboration, “Tu Boda.” His first No. 1 hit on any chart arrived two months earlier with his feature on Becky G’s “Mercedes,” topping the Regional Mexican Airplay chart. His first career entry on Billboard, however, arrived in 2023 on the Billboard Hot 100 with Junior H on “Fin de Semana.”
Born in Baja California, Mexico, Maydon emerged on the music scene in 2020 with debut single “De La Nació,” presenting his alternative corridos fused with pop melodies. He has two studio albums: GXLE 3 (2022) and Distorsión (2023).

Cris MJ
Thanks to the massive success on the charts and social media of his and FloyyMenor’s reggaetón banger “Gata Only,” Cris MJ was a three-time finalist at the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards: Global 200 Latin song of the year, Hot Latin Song of the year, and Hot Latin Song of the year, vocal event—winning the award for the former.
Inspired by old-school reggaetón acts, such as Daddy Yankee, Jory and Ñengo Flow, as well as American Trap artists Travis Scott, Drake and Lil Baby, the Chilean artist decided to teach himself how to make music, and ultimately landed Karol G and Ryan Castro on his “Una Noche en Medellín” remix in 2023.

Tito Double P
Born and raised in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Tito was first a longtime songwriter for Peso Pluma, forging his own path as a singer. Some of his earlier hits as composer include “El Belicon,” “Siempre Pendientes,” “PRC” and “AMG.” Tito later made his artist debut on Peso’s Génesis album with “Gavilán II” and “La People.” This year, he reached No. 2 on the Top Latin Albums and Regional Mexican Albums charts, and No. 20 on the all-genre Billboard 200, with his debut album Incómodo.
“I never thought I’d be a songwriter, much less an artist, but music was something that was always on my mind,” he previously told Billboard. “As a kid, I was good with rhymes — and when I got to high school, I learned to play the guitar, because you either chose to do sports, learn chess or take guitar classes. I chose guitar, then chess — but never sports.”

Xavi
Xavi’s tumbados románticos sound derived from a combination of watching his grandfather sing at church and his own musical influences, such as Camila, Sin Bandera and Justin Bieber. After a near-fatal car accident at the age of 16 — and suffering from a cracked skull and changed facial structure — the aspiring teen star went viral on social medial for playing the guitar during his recovery.
His song “La Diabla,” backed by his melodious strong vocals and captivating requintos, became the first No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs chart this year, where it topped for 14 consecutive weeks. This year, he won new artist of the year at the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards and dropped his debut album Next.
