WARNING: The following report contains discussion and footage of domestic abuse

Jon Allen, the drummer of California thrash metal band Sadus, has allegedly been seen in a video in which he is engaged in a disturbing domestic dispute with partner and child.

In footage shared on Facebook, the drummer is seen allegedly attacking a woman while she was hooked up to a dialysis machine and while a young child looks on. According to reports from Lambgoat, the woman is Brandy Mae Collins, and the attack led to severe health complications.

The outlet also highlighted how the footage was uploaded by Anubis vocalist and bassist Devin Reiche, who shared the video on Facebook and claimed that the incident led to Collins being hospitalised.

“So, you know whose music I love??? SADUS. They’re like, one of my favourite bands from that late ’80s/early ’90s period where thrash metal was gradually evolving into technical death metal,” he began in the caption. “THAT SAID, here’s some footage of their drummer Jon Allen beating the absolute living fuck out of my friend Brandy while she was hooked up to a dialysis machine (as her elementary school-aged son watches and tries to intervene).”

He continued: “She ended up hospitalised some days later after she started urinating blood, and it turned out that he had dislodged her catheter into her ovaries, and from what I understand she almost died as a result.”

It is unclear when the incident took place, and based on images shared on Allen’s Instagram account, it appeared that the two were in a relationship. It also seems to have taken place before Allen and the remainder of Sadus went on a European tour with Obituary.

Collins has also shared a video on Facebook, discussing the incident. In the video, she is seen crying while discussing Allen’s alleged previous violent behaviour. This, she claims, includes habitual substance abuse and mistreatment.

She also alleges that he left her after the hospitalisation to continue with touring commitments, and that the other Sadus band members were aware of her mistreatment but failed to intervene. Later, she claims that it has been difficult to take legal action against Allen as he is currently listed as her caregiver.

NME has reached out to both Sadus and Collins for comment.

Since the footage was shared, it has been widely reported that Sadus has fired Allen from the line-up. In a statement from the band’s vocalist and guitarist Darren Travis (via Metal Injection), he said: “Upon recent allegations of misconduct.. SADUS will be parting ways with Jon Allen.. I do not condone any type of malicious behaviour towards any person.”

Allen played for Sadus from their founding in 1985 up until 2015, and then joined the line-up again upon their reformation in 2017 to present day.
