Tom Constanten, Ryan Miller, Tom Hamilton and More Join Relix 50 Lineup

Back in December, Relix unveiled its plan to celebrate 50 years by welcoming Taper’s Choice to New York’s Brooklyn Bowl on Wednesday, January 15, and ultimately following up with a short list of first-wave guests. With the date fast approaching, the final round of artists representing a vast network of improvisation figureheads and future jam leaders has been unveiled.

Newcomers to the Relix 50 celebration include late ‘60s era Grateful Dead keyboardist Tom Constanten and lead singer of indie darlings Guster, Ryan Miller. Also included are Joe Russo’s Almost Dead guitarist Tom Hamilton, promising bassist Karina Rykman, Dr. Dog backbeat Eric Slick, and The Greyboy Allstars’ soul jazz expert Robert Walter. 

The aforementioned artist joins the announced participants, including members of Taper’s Choice, Alex Bleeker (Real Estate), Dave Harrington (DARKSIDE) and Zach Tenorio-Miller (Arc Iris); and first wave guests: harpist Mikaela Davis, scene staple and member of Joe Russo’s Almost Dead Scott Metzger, trumpeter and New York City favorite Jordan Mclean, and woodwind multi-instrumentalist Stuart Bogie.

The gathering will also extend its musical offerings to include DJead Night, featuring Conrad Doucette from Day of the Dead and Scott Devendorff of The National, and late-night entertainment from DJ Logic.

Relix’s history harkens back to the Grateful Dead’s expansive network of concert tapers and their desire to share and celebrate live music, with the knowledge that each and every show is a unique experience that differs from night to night.
