Umphrey’s McGee Cancel Miami New Year’s Eve Run, New York City Shows

Umphrey’s McGee announced that they have canceled their three-night run set to take place at The Fillmore Miami on New Year’s, as well as, their New York shows at Terminal 5 scheduled for Jan. 14 and 15. The band cited the “Rapidly spiking [COVID] case counts across the country” as the cause for the cancellations.

“It is with perpetual frustration and utter disappointment that we announce the cancellation of our upcoming Miami and New York shows,” wrote Umphrey’s McGee. “There is nothing we’d rather be doing to ring in the new year than playing for you. But reality continues to bite.”

Tickets for the two runs of shows will be fully refunded at the point of purchase–including VIP packages and headphone purchases.

​It is with perpetual frustration and utter disappointment that we announce the cancellation of our upcoming Miami and New York City shows. There is nothing we’d rather be doing to ring in the new year than playing for you. But reality continues to bite. 

Rapidly spiking case counts across the country are making large indoor gatherings riskier, even more so as people gather for the holidays and increase travel. The complexities of this virus, the logistics of event production, and the increasing difficulties of access to timely testing (for band/crew, venue staff, and fans for entry) remain an unending battle. 

As a growing circle of family, friends and peers continue to contract the virus, UM and our promoters are in agreement that pulling off safe, responsible, and successful events is not realistic. 

We’re incredibly grateful and truly sorry. It sucks. 

100% of tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase, including all umVIP packages and headphones purchases.
