Widespread Panic have announced a three-night run, March 21-23, 2025, at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre in St. Augustine, Fla. The band’s latest publicized dates will arrive after initial concerts slated for after the New Year, February 14-16, 2025, at Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena in Atlantic City, N.J. The Peach State ensemble’s return comes after a series of cancellations that coincided with Jimmy Herring’s stage one tonsil cancer diagnosis.

Before today’s announcement regarding future performances, Widespread Panic started their summer by confirming their latest studio album, Snake Oil King, their first in nine years. They promptly followed up with the onset of their three-night Red Rock run, which elevated their venue status to a staggering 72 consecutive sold-out shows in Morrison, Colo., one of which featured guest Jason Crosby helping out on “The Take Out.” Read more.

The band went so far as to detail their Halloween 2024 plans before the severity of the situation changed the tone with the mid-July health update concerning Herring’s status. “The Widespread Panic Family is sad to report that our Brother, Jimmy Herring, has been diagnosed with stage 1 tonsil cancer. He will begin treatment immediately and is expected to make a full recovery.” They closed out the initial news by amplifying comfortability with the status of Herring’s prognosis, adding, “That part we’re happy to report.”

Also coinciding with the guitarist’s health update was news of initial show cancellations, affecting previously announced dates in Asheville, N.C., slated for July 25-27, 2024. Less than a week later, Widespread Panic followed up again, erasing runs in Boston (which would have represented their first regional return in nine years) and Las Vegas. Ultimately, the band took it a step further in August, eliminating all ensuing shows to account for their brother and bandmate’s treatment.

Given the latest widespread developments, the group is moving ahead with live shows by accepting newly announced concerts. The band’s string of 2025 live shows comes after the November 8, 2024, release of Hailbound Queen. The previously mentioned EP consists of the Bloodkin original and frequent concert play, “Trashy,” as well as “Halloween Face,” and new additions to the WP catalog, “King Baby,” “Blue Carousel,” and a cover of Warren Zevon’s “Keep Me In Your Heart.”

Tickets for Widespread Panic’s March dates in the Sunshine State go on sale this Friday, December 6, at 10 a.m. E.T.
