Widespread Panic have quietly released their first new studio recording since 2020. In a social media post, bassist Dave Schools confirmed that their new song “Little By Little” was now available for streaming. Panic debuted the song live at Huntsville, AL’s Orion Amphitheater on July 29, 2023, and have performed it five additional times thus far, most recently on January 19, 2024 in St. Louis.

“Little By Little” arrives on Widespread Panic’s eponymous label. Panic have not released a studio album since 2015’s Street Dogs, which was issued by Vanguard. In 2022, the ensemble dropped the archival LP Miss Kitty’s Lounge on their Widespread Panic Records and, in 2020, they released the single “Sundown Betty.” “I Swear It Wasn’t Me” was the track’s B-side.

Widespread Panic will kick off a three-night run at the Chicago Theatre on February 15.
